Avoid Halloween Candy Temptation

With buckets of Halloween candy looming around your house how can you resist enjoying a few fun sized snickers and some candy corn.  There’s nothing wrong with a little sweet treat, but be careful not to over do it. Its easier than you think to consume too many empty “candy calories”.

A fun size snicker contains 99 calories, 5 grams of fat, and 10 grams of sugar. While these numbers aren’t outrageously high they add up quickly. I once consumed an entire 8 pack of fun sized Kit-Kat bars in 10 minutes ( subconsciously off course)

If you have a sweet tooth like me try to snack on foods rich with natural sugar and low in added sugar like fruit, frozen yogurt, tea with sugar substitute, pudding, Jell-O, or  apple sauce.

Still want to snack on that Halloween candy. It’s not a problem. Use this Halloween Treats Calorie Counter on About.com to monitor what you consume.
