Açaí Berries: Superfood that’ll make you Super Sexy?
Everyone know that grapes, wine, and berries are loaded with vitamins and antioxidant. Snacking on these common fruits provides many health benefits, but what if there was a fruit that put all other fruits to shame. A fruit so powerful that is has 10 to 30 times for antioxidants than blueberries.
The little fruit sensation I’m referring to is the Açaí (pronounced ‘ah-sigh-ee’ – can’t stand when people mispronounce the word) berry. Açaí is a small blueish, reddish fruit that is native to Central and South America – particularly Brazil.
While extensive research on the berry is limited, it has been linked to several health benefits including: weight loss, anti-aging, strengthen immune system, improve mental clarity, increase energy and metabolism, and help prevent cancer.
Since this fruits introduction to the western world many companies have tried to capitalize of of it. Supplements, extracts, juice imitations, and fake products pollute the aisle of stores and over run the internet. The best way to insure that you are getting authentic açaí in your diet is to read the labels, shop organic, and research the product.
Like all fruits, açaí berries have great health benefits when incorporated into an already healthy diet. Research doesn’t prove any of the benefits many claim the berries has. But I do know one thing. Açaí berries are native to Brazil and Brazilians are gorgeous. (” I’m just saying” Wendy Williams voice). Connection???
